Wednesday 6th June 2018
The Surrey Cricket Foundation is the charitable body charged with the delivery of recreational cricket in Surrey (operating as an integral part of Surrey County Cricket Club) and we are pleased to bring you an evening with “arguably the fastest bowler to have ever played test cricket”, Michael Holding.
Nicknamed “Whispering Death” by umpires due to his quiet approach to the bowling crease, his bowling was smooth, extremely fast and with his height generated large amounts of bounce and zip off the pitch. He was part of the fearsome West Indian pace battery.
We are in for a truly great night and an event not to be missed.
The evening will include an interview with Michael conducted by our MC and a Question and Answer session. You will have a chance for an autograph and a picture. We will be raising money for our chosen charity on the night and will also hold a raffle as well as a running and main auction.
The SCF supports communities, schools and clubs by providing funding, knowledge, coaching and competitions in Surrey and South London. Our goal is to get more people playing cricket, and in doing so we aim to improve health and well-being of the recreational game and identify young talent for Surrey CCC.
