About Mick

Mick Miller is one of Britain’s best-loved comedians, with a career that spans over four decades and shows no sign of slowing down.

Born in Liverpool, Mick’s first ambition was actually to be a footballer. He played in goal as a youngster and signed for Port Vale when Stanley Matthews was the club’s general manager. When a professional football career didn’t materialise, he found his way into stand-up comedy through a stint at Pontins holiday parks, winning his heat on the ITV talent show New Faces and never looking back.

He rose to national fame as a regular on ITV’s The Comedians, one of the most popular light entertainment shows of the 1970s, and became a household name through appearances on Blankety Blank alongside his close friend Les Dawson, 3-2-1, and Seaside Special. In the 1980s, he co-hosted his own Saturday evening show on ITV, The Funny Side, with Cheryl Baker and the late Mike Smith.

What makes Mick remarkable is his ability to keep evolving. While many of his contemporaries retired or faded from view, Mick reinvented himself, performing in comedy clubs alongside a new generation of stand-ups and proving that great comedy is timeless. He landed acting roles in Peter Kay’s Car Share and the cult sitcom IDEAL, introducing his talents to entirely new audiences.

In November 2025, Mick performed at the Royal Variety Performance at the Royal Albert Hall, hosted by Jason Manford. Reviews singled him out as the standout act of the night, with one describing his set as demolishing the notoriously difficult Royal Variety audience with twenty minutes of classic material. At 75, he was performing alongside Westlife, Jessie J, Madness and Stephen Fry β€” and stole the show.

He continues to perform across the UK and internationally, and remains in constant demand on the theatre and cruise ship circuit. His deadpan delivery, ever-changing material and, of course, the famous haircut are as sharp as ever.
