Friday 18 September 2026, from noon
Steam Wine Bar, 1 St George’s Lane, EC3R 8DJ
Doors open at noon with a welcome drink on arrival. Guests are seated by 12:30 for a three course set menu with paired wines. AP takes the floor for a hosted conversation at roughly 14:00, with guest questions welcome throughout. Coffees, petit fours, and plenty of time to finish your wine before we close at 16:30.
This afternoon was originally scheduled for the spring and moved to September because Tom insisted on giving AP the autumn flat slot, the one we normally hold for the biggest names of the year. That should tell you everything. Twenty championships is not a record that gets broken, it is a record that ends an era.
If you have been to a Steam lunch before you know the rhythm. If you have not, think of it as a long lunch with an unusually interesting guest at the head of the table, and a room full of people who know the City better than most. It is the kind of afternoon people still talk about months later.
Wine pairing with the meal is included. These are additional packages if you want to make a proper afternoon of it.
A generous house selection from our core list. Two reds, two whites, a sparkling, and an aperitif on arrival.
A step up with regional selections from France and Italy, sourced for food friendliness and character.
Featuring single estate choices and a couple of harder to find labels. Our sommelier’s quiet favourite.
For the corporate table that wants to make an impression. Champagne on arrival, classed growth reds, vintage ports at the close.
Every quote is tailored. Tell us what you need at booking and we will make it happen.
